Taking the first step

Getting in touch about therapy can feel surprisingly difficult — even when you’re clear that something needs attention.

You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a fully formed story before contacting me. An initial conversation is simply a way of exploring whether this feels like the right place to begin.

There’s no obligation to continue beyond that.

A free introductory conversation

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call for people considering counselling, psychotherapy, or hypnotherapy.

This is a chance to:

  • briefly describe what’s bringing you to therapy
     
  • ask any questions you may have
     
  • get a sense of how I work
     
  • see whether it feels like a good fit
     

It’s not an assessment, and you won’t be asked to commit. The focus is on fit and clarity, not pressure.

What happens next?

f we decide to work together, we’ll:

  • agree a session time and format (in person or online)
     
  • talk through practical details such as fees and availability
     
  • move at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate
     

If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, that’s okay too. Finding the right therapist matters, and part of the work is recognising what feels right for you.

Many people worry about “getting it wrong” when reaching out for therapy.

There’s no right or wrong way to begin — only a conversation to see whether this feels like the right support for you, at this time.
